Overview

Fort Yewdale was founded durring the late 12th century in summer of the year 1052, by Èdsh Goodwyn Brazier Boot Adcock Bayntun. The establishment of Fort Yewdale suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Fort Yewdale which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Fort Yewdale was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fort Yewdale is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Fort Yewdale is buildings are located arround a single narrow canals mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the city a over all circular shape. The city has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the city is well defended against anything short of an army. The cost-cutting-focused defences have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Your first impression of Fort Yewdale proves to be right on the money. This city is where the rebels chose to settle. Fashion trends are quite simply the opposite of what’s popular in the other nearby communities. THis trend extends everywhere. Things that should be black are white, what would normally be square is organically curved, and what is typically unthinkable for polite society is more than welcome in this public square. Up to the logical limits, of course. There’s no flaying someone alive to eat their skin going on, but the women are dressed a little immodestly, the men are a little more emotional, and the food is all overly complex and terrible.

Cultural Notes

While Fort Yewdale might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Fort Yewdale's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.

In Fort Yewdale there are unidentifiable people in the fog, but it seems to be okay.

The Almiraj near Fort Yewdale are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Fort Yewdale's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves line dance to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 1 via oath swearing.
